History
Lakeview
Christian Church began in 1923 as a Sunday School program
designed and run by a group of mothers eager to teach their
children about Jesus. As the program grew, they expanded
from just a Sunday School and became a church congregation.
On January 24, 1926 they had their first official meeting
with 40 people present. Although educating children about
Christ remained important, they also began to focus on providing
for the social and spiritual needs of their community. Lakeview
built their first building in 1930, and moved to their current
location in 1970.
Over
the past 80 years Lakeview has grown and changed, and been
served by several ministers, but their purpose has remained
the same. Lakeview Christian Church has spent the last eight
decades educating people about Christ and caring for it's
community, and we will continue to find new ways to accomplish
those purposes as we move into the future.
